For a small library, Bliss Memorial Library has built up a sizeable collection of items to loan. We have a wide variety of media available for patrons to use and enjoy: books, magazines, books on CD, books on tape, VHS tapes, DVDs, CD-ROM, music CDs, and more!
Books: our library has approximately 24,400 books in our collection.
- Our adult fiction selections include general fiction, mysteries, westerns, romances, and a large print section.
- We also receive 80 large print books form NORWELD, which are rotated every four months. The NORWELD titles cover a wide variety of topics, and help us augment our own large print collection.
- Our juvenile fiction collection is divided into an easy reader section (3rd grade and younger), a juvenile fiction wall (4th through 6th graders), and a young adult section which contains our science fiction and fantasy genres, graphic novels and other books for junior high readers and older.
- All books can be checked out for 28 days.
Magazines: our library subscribes to approximately 140 magazines
- Our collection includes a wide variety of titles, including crafting, home decorating, home improvement, science, popular culture, history, travel, fashion, and manga.
- We have retained a large collection of Ideals magazines, organized by holiday-theme.
- Back issues of monthly, bi-monthly and quarterly magazines are kept for a period of three years. Back issues of weekly magazines are kept for a period of one year.
Audiobooks: our library has more than 600 titles
- Our collection includes multiple formats--cassette tape and compact disc
- We include books for all ages and cover many genres: easy readers, young adult, thrillers, comedies, romances and more!
- Audiobooks may be checked out for 28 days.
Digital Media: our collection includes a variety of formats
- CD-ROM--check out time is two weeks. We have educational game titles available for all ages and in many subject areas: reading and math skills for all primary grade levels, typing programs, games of strategy, role-playing, problem-solving and many more.
- Music CDs--check out time is two weeks. Our collection covers a wide variety of artists and genres: kids' songs, holiday music, rock, 'oldies', classical, country, and much, much more.
- DVDs (and VHS tapes!)--check out time is ONE week. Our movie collection is approaching 1600 titles. Additionally, we have a rotating selection of NORWELD DVDs available for checkout. This selection consists of approximately 40 titles and a new group arrives every four months.

There is currently NO charge to check out any digital media, unless, of course, the items don't get returned on time.
Holiday Books: more than just Christmas!
- Our holiday book collection covers a wide selection of celebrations: President's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Valentine's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving and more.
- Easy reader books for each holiday season are on rotating display on the children's area.
- Adult fiction and non-fiction, including craft and home decor titles, are available for many of the holidays.
- Holiday books may be checkout our for ONLY two weeks at a time.
